This tour will take you to southern Crete. There, you will explore palm forests, swim in crystal clear waters, and admire stunning coastal scenery. Preveli Beach is a beautiful beach in southern Crete, near the town of Rethymno.
The Beach is at the end of the Kourtaliotikos Gorge, where the Grand River flows into the sea. Preveli Beach is on the southern coast of Crete. It’s famous for its tropical palm forest along the Grand River. The river flows through a gorge, forms a small lagoon, and then meets the sea.
Visitors usually walk down a steep path from a hill to reach the beach, but the view is worth it. Preveli Beach is also connected to some ancient myths. One story says that the gods created the river to give life to the land. Another myth speaks of a hidden treasure buried in the area by pirates long ago. Preveli Beach is a peaceful place to enjoy nature, explore history, and escape from crowded areas.

You’ll have about 4 hours to explore the beach and surrounding area at your own pace. The walk to the beach takes about 15 minutes (300 steps) and offers stunning views of cliffs and the gorge. After your visit, the guide will take you back to your hotel.
The beach has soft sand, smooth pebbles, and clear water that’s perfect for swimming. The tall cliffs and heart shaped rock make it a great spot for photos.
You can walk along the river under the palm trees, explore the nearby canyon, or relax on the beach. Preveli also has historical significance, as it helped allied soldiers during World War II.
To reach the beach, there is a path with about 300 steps. Preveli is a peaceful and beautiful place to enjoy nature and learn about Crete’s history.
