It is located 850 meters above sea level. The plateau offers breath taking views and a chance to experience the serene rural life of Crete.

As you drive through the plateau, you’ll visit a Mitato, a traditional shepherd’s paddock. This is a chance to meet a local shepherd family. Also, watch the cheese making process. You’ll also get to taste some delicious Cretan products, including cheese, rusk, wine, and raki. The next stop is Dikteon Theme Park. There you can explore the Greek mythology park and learn about the ancient stories of this legendary place.
The day continues with a lunch stop in the village of Psichro. There you’ll taste local Cretan dishes, freshly baked in a wood oven at a family tavern. Afterward, you’ll drive up a dirt road route to 1150 meters above sea level. The route offers some of the most breath taking panoramic views of Crete. The final stop on your journey is Kastamonitsa Village. Here you can visit the ancient Roman aqueduct and learn about its fascinating history.
