Mythological Park

Situated in the village of Psychro within the Municipality of Lassithi Plateau, the Greek Mythology Park is strategically located near the renowned Dikteo Cave, believed to be the birthplace of Zeus, the revered God of ancient Greek mythology. The park encompasses themes deeply rooted in the traditions of Greek mythology, the Minoan civilization, and the rural life of Crete. Its establishment was prompted by the growing interest of numerous visitors eager to delve into and expand their knowledge of ancient Greek myths and culture.

Spanning an expansive area of 3000 sq.m., the park serves as an immersive exploration into the tales of ancient Greece. Enhanced by special lighting, sound effects, and an informative audio tour, the experience is designed to be engaging and accessible, even for younger visitors. As they navigate through the park, guests feel transported from the enigmatic corridors of a labyrinth to the radiant surroundings of Greek temples. The park serves as a comprehensive educational journey, offering insights into four distinct eras of Greek history and mythology, spanning from the Minoans and ancient Athens to Byzantium and the folk traditions of the Lassithi Plateau in the late 1960s.
