Buggy Safari in Crete. Your adventure starts early in the morning at our base in Analipsi. First, you will meet your guide and learn how to drive our brand-new 2025 automatic buggies. After the safety talk, we start our engines!

The first part of the trip is an easy drive on smooth roads. This helps you get comfortable and feel 100% confident with your buggy. Once you feel like a pro, we arrive at the big Aposelemis Dam for our first photo stop. From there, we leave the easy roads and head into the wild mountains!

The Buggy Safari Route

Through a scenic mountain drive, we reach the village of Askoi for a traditional coffee break. Then, the real climbing begins! As we leave the pavement behind, we let the dirt fly and head to the “Top of the World” at St. John’s Church. Standing at this “balcony of Crete,” you will witness a staggering 360-degree view that covers nearly a third of the island.

The trail then takes us to a hidden gem—a crystal-clear spring—for a refreshing pause in nature’s own spa. Next, we step back in time as we visit a very old Byzantine church which dates back to the 11th century. Our exploration continues as we discover an old Venetian Watermill from the 13th century.

Our next stop will be a traditional local tavern. You will taste an authentic Cretan meal with meat and vegetarian options in a beautiful local setting. After lunch, we follow a very smooth and relaxing route, giving you time to digest your meal and enjoy the beautiful scenery in comfort. This ride brings us to the majestic Skotino Cave, one of the biggest and most beautiful caves in Crete.

Leaving the cave, we drive back to our base. You will return with a big smile and the dust of the mountains on your face, feeling like a true “Master” of the adventure!

What to Bring:

Driver’s License: A valid car license (CAT B) is required for all drivers (a photo or photocopy is perfectly fine).
Comfortable Clothes: Wear clothes you don’t mind getting a bit dusty or dirty—it’s part of the fun!
Closed-toe Shoes: For your safety, please wear sneakers or sturdy shoes. No flip-flops or sandals, while driving.
Sun Protection: Sunscreen and sunglasses are highly recommended.
Camera or Smartphone: You’ll definitely want to capture the “Instagrammable” views and the Aposelemis Dam.
A Light Jacket: If you choose the morning tour, it can be a bit chilly in the mountains during the end and the beginning of the season (April & October).

Important Info:

The buggy tour lasts 6 hours and covers a route of over 70 km. 

The meeting point is at our offices in Analipsi Village, 15-20 minutes before departure. The driver must have a valid car driver’s license and an ID card in physical form. We do not accept provisional driving licenses. Children over 10 years old can share the buggy with an adult.

All participants who wish to drive must wear comfortable closed shoes.

We do not accept children below 10 years old and drivers below 21 years old.

Drivers must complete a waiver form prior to the tour.

Hersonissos Buggy Tour Pricing:

The Hersonissos Buggy Tour cost is €198 PER buggy for two people. Both ways Transfer has an extra charge of 10 Euro per person.

High-heeled shoes: For safety reasons, only flat, closed-toe shoes or sneakers are permitted.

Alcohol and drugs: Any person under the influence of alcohol or substances will not be allowed to participate.

Alcoholic drinks in the vehicle: Consumption of alcohol is strictly forbidden during the tour.

Irresponsible driving: Dangerous maneuvers or failing to follow the guide’s instructions will lead to immediate exclusion from the tour.
